| Sunrise Sawmill, Inc. is a family owned and operated business in existence for over 20 years. Started in 1979 and incorporated in 1988, Sunrise Sawmill has grown from a one person hobby to a full time operation serving Western North Carolina. We deal in wholesale and retail sales of rough sawn lumber as well as mulch, chips, and sawdust. We also provide custom sawing services to the public. The sawmill also owns 1 truck for delivery of goods as needed and we purchase logs as well.

We strive to provide services and/or materials for any size job and we dedicate ourselves to work with the company and its clients to provide the best service and product possible. Company ProfileSunrise Sawmill has been owned and run by Don Shuford for over 25 years. In the earlier days, you might have met his mother, Jessie Shuford, helping out around the office. Now that Don is married, his wife, Michelle Shuford, has taken over the responsibilities of running the office and working with the customers. Directions to the MillFrom I-40: Take exit 51. Go Left on Hwy 25-A/Sweeten Creek Rd. Take your 1st Left onto Roberts Rd. Go past the Asheville Fun Depot. Go over the Railroad Tracks. Go thru a neighborhood and when you come to a stop sign, go Right on School Rd. Go 1 mile and the sawmill will be on your Right. From I-26: Take exit 40 (Old exit 9/Airport exit). Go Right onto Airport Rd. heading towards Asheville. Continue straight thru the BIG intersection of Hendersonville Rd. (Hwy 25) and you will now be on Sweeten Creek Rd. (Hwy 25-A). Stay on Sweeten Creek for about 6-7 miles. Your 1st landmark will be the Blue Ridge Parkway overpass. Your 2nd landmark will be to go thru the signaled intersection at Rock Hill Rd. Go another 1/4 to 1/2 mile and turn Right onto West Chapel Rd. (There will be a cemetery there with a concrete retaining wall. If you pass the Hot Spot gas station on the left, you've gone too far:-) At the top of the hill at the stop sign, go Left. (It's still West Chapel Rd.) Go 1/2 mile and the mill will be on your Left.
